Has as primary responsibility the preservation, to ensure the integrity of the museum's collections and buildings occupied by them. The ongoing maintenance of the collection is to identify and solve the problems of degradation caused by physical, chemical and biological agents.
The Laboratory for Conservation and Restoration adopts a policy of minimal intervention, which combined with the quality and reversibility of the materials used, ensures the survival of the aesthetic and historic values that are characteristics of the objects.
Two spaces are design for it: the studio of paper and studio of painting, sculpture, furniture and jewelry. Through agreements, the sector collaborates in training the interns.
